I bought a used tank from Chris a year or so ago. He had wire brushed it and painted it black. But we know what kind of guy he is from a couple of months ago, no? ;-) Geez--it even had the protection plate with it!

I painted it "propane" white (spray paint) and mounted it under the sliding door of my '87 Westy Syncro. I put new valves and regulator on it without checking the old; they were so corroded.. The RV shop where I bought the stuff then filled it "a little" and checked for leaks (none); they didn't care much about it otherwise, so I agree with Frank's views on this.
