I've been told and this is only un-proven rumor that tiny metal particles build up in your lifters and can't escape so they remain there forever. This happens initially after a rebuild job or after a crankshaft, cam shaft break and are replaced. Take it for what its worth! Second hand info like this is seldom correct but as a last resort it might be worth considering a clean out job on your lifters. Stan
