Hi Jerry,

The fridge needs heat to cool and propane provides the most heat of the three power sources. If you think about the most powerful 12 volt accesories (like a fan for instance) you can buy and compare that to what you can run off house current -- you'll get an idea of the relative power available. Someone more knowledgable than I (pretty much anybody i guess) could probably provide a figure in watts/joules/BTUs/thermakadiddles. Anyway, I never run my fridge on anything but propane --- even while driving. A tank of propane will run the fridge for three weeks with no fuss.
