Hi Steve,

I changed my fuel filter a day or so ago in my 90 GL (system layout: tank, pump, filter, engine) and the filter is about the size of a large can of tomatoes. You get a few drops from the pump/tank side of the system (pumps blocks flow) but you get the full contents of the filter from the other side. And it is as simple as it looks: 2 hose clamps and a filter clamp (philips screw: clamps filter onto the frame). When you start it with the new filter is will take a few cranks but she'll light off.

Good Luck

Greetings gang.

My Fuel filter on my 87 Vanagon began a slow drip today. Napa has them on hand, and I was wondering if they are as easy to replace as they look. (unscrew hose clamps and replace)

When I remove the old one, should I expect major gas spillage, or is fuel not runing through the lines when the engine is not running? (AKA no fuel pump action going on)

Do I need to worry about air in the lines, or will that just blow itself out?

Thanks for your help fellow friends! - Steven Shane in N. Cali. mailto:s.shane@pobox.com _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
