I can second that. Lived in the Austrian alps for about 13 years. No bears,
but got married to a moose... got divorced several  years later and by then
I'd got used to living with it. 'Twas traumatic shortly after the initial
curiosity had worn off, though. Anyway.... Moose moved out and all was well
in my life again...
