<< Subject: Replacing Vanagon Windshield and/or Seal >>

A few months ago I had a new windshield installed in a van. From my experience, I can only say, let the experts do it. Oh, I could have done it myself. I had a used windshield laying around and I have removed and replaced all the glass on other cars twice before for color changes. But, considering how cheap it is and how painlessly a practiced automotive glazier does his thing, why do it yourself?

In fact, it was so cheap and quick to have done, I will do it again just to have a streak-free, undazzled view of the road on a rainy night. There must be at least one other person who, like me, is installing new wipers every time Bosch comes up with an innovation or adjusting the angle of attack of the wipers ad infinitum, just to end up with the same smeared view. It seems that the sandblasting job done by road grit exacts a toll which is beyond the wherewithal of any miracle wiper.
