Subject: Help Major Surging
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Particulars: 85 Westfalia 1.9 liter

Problem: Major Surging @ 3200+ rpms, Abnormally high idle at one point around 1700 rpm

Fixes: Replaced Idle stabilizer (was having a problem with high idle, fixed problem) , 22mdf cap fix for Air Sensor, (was having a total intermittent dropoff in power bu tthis was very rare, believe it is possible to air temp sensor?) plugs wires cap not more than 6 months.

Question 1: I believe that it is possible that my old friend is back much worse. This just happened this morning. Believe it could be the air sensor, coming off of track at higher rpm? Any other suggestions or fixes for those of you with similar problems?

Question 2: So I am clear what exactly would happen it temp sensor was faulty, what would the symptoms be?

Namaste, Stephen
