Yes, Rich. My ego is formed into a perfect halo. At some angles it can be viewed as a crown as well. Have I ever tell you that I was born on Christmas Day and that I can walk on water? Oh yeah, and my real initials are BEST.

Anyway, I'm not sure exactly how it works in the Vanagon as I had not had the problem with mine. However, my VW Fox wagon had this same problem. It just would not self park. Once I replaced the relay w/ a good one, it parked just fine. Reinstalling the questionable relay caused it to fail to park again. Perhaps it was coincidence but I was able to transfer the failure to another Fox by installing the questionable relay there.

I don't know the exact science and technology behind the wiper relay. However, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that if trouble followed the component then the problem must be there.

What do y'all think? Inquiring minds want to know.*
