You could have studs loosening, but if tightening doesn't fix it most likely your pipe is cracked, a common occurrence after 16 or so years (usually much less!). Sometimes the crack can be welded in place, but if you have to take them off to get at the crack, replace both of the pipes, they will just continue to crack.
