<< I had to stay overnight in the bush a couple of weeks ago. The Northern Ontario mossies - mosquitoes - were present in their millions that night.

I smugly sat back inside enjoying the "buzz" - BUT - in not too long a time those friggin' mossies found a way in.

My screens are solid and as far as I know everything on the westy is as it should be... so where are those suckers, no pun intended, getting in?

Has anyone discovered a secret mosquitoe hatch? >>

Yes there is a magic hatch screen as well as a sliding door opening screen at: http://eurocampers.com/Screens.html

The magic screens I offer keep the mosquitoes out, instead of letting them in.

The screens seal up using both velcro and snaps. The original Westfalia screens have little gaps in them that allow the "mossies" in. You also let in a batch each time you open your sliding door. Our sliding door opening screen has a zipper in the center for easy access. The bottom seam is weighed down by a small chain sewn inside, so access in and out of the van is a snap.

I use the Vanagon sliding door screen on my '74 Westy (fits great) and also a similar screen on my '93 MV. The screens are made in Germany and identical to those that Westfalia sells for the EuroVan.

You can order the screens online by following the above link.
