Subject: Marhall Brass 2 Stage LP Regulator discoveries

List,

If you have the Marshall Brass Co. Model 260 (which is OEM), that is no longer made.

Some have mentioned the newer Marshall 290 as a replacement, but there is also a Model 299 which is specifically for horizontal tanks like ours. The difference is that the vent on the regulator is at 90 degrees, which allows it to face down (the proper position). See this PDF file for more info:

I just went through a leaky regulator, but ended up finding a 260 at a shop a few miles from home! $16 for an obsolete regulator! I asked him if he had any more (for the list), but no dice. Needless to say, I was blown away.

If the company above carries these regulators, it could be an almost perfect replacement for our stock setup. You would still have to bend your supply pipes to accomodate the longer regulator.

Hope this ends up helping someone. We are heading up to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival this weekend. Anyone else going?

John Haddad
