Hi Volks, Various posts from the past give dire warnings about the vagaries of using GL-5 in vanagon trannies, supposedly because of severe corrosion problems associated with some brass parts. I am sceptical, but I simply don't know. Has anyone actually had such an unfotunate "severe corrosion" problem CAUSED by using GL-5, in a 2WD? The archives seem to have pretty vague references. I have found a Canadian Tire Corporation (FLAPS throughout Canada) product (synthetic) that claims BOTH GL-4 and GL-5 compliance. Would this be acceptable? JGS 84 1.9L Westfalia Bleu Schtroumpf |
