Wanting screens for the front door windows of our '85 Westy, I went to our local Lowes last week and purchased a roll of fiberglass screening and two 10' rolls of 1/2" wide magnetic tape. Assembly was easy. I started by placing the magnetic tape around the window (it took just under 10' per window). I then removed the backing paper from the self-adhesive side and pressed the screen (cut oversized) against it. Carefully removing it so the magnets didn't come loose (that self-adhesive doesn't work well on screen), I took them in the house and applied low-temperature hotmelt glue along the magnet strips. A final trimming of excess screen and, voila, two nice window screens. Now, if only the sliding door screen would arrive, we'll be sleeping as bug-free as possible without applying shrink-wrap to our bus. John '85 Westy BUST'R |
