Is there a metal part like it? >> Got mine from the VW dealer. Of three dealers in my area, prices ranged from $53-$72. Watch you face when you're replacing it. Take the bottom hoses off first to let it drain. Considering the part lasted 12 years in my van, I decided it was not worth the hassle to have a metal one fabricated. Besides using the wrong metals can cause added corrosion to the heads as a result of electrolysis.
