Don't bleed it--that is your problem! A 20' line full of 20-50 oil is useless. Air will transmit pressure quicker--pressure is pressure--or fill it with kerosene or some other lightweight oil. A larger line will give you slower response--more volume to move. Use 1/8" and don't bleed it at the gauge end. Copper works well and is a little more resistant to stones and debris.

You're going to find that the tube actuated oil pressure gauge is a disappointment. They respond very slowly and have considerable line drop in the 20 feet it takes to get to the gauge. If you must use this gauge use a 3/16" line. The 1/8" just doesn't give good results. Its OK to use the 1/8" line for the last three feet under your dash, but make the rest of the line 3/16" or you'll drive yourself nuts monitoring a auge that can lag a full minute. You also need to bleed the line at the gauge after you install it. Stan Wilder (Been there done that, installed an electronic and love it, just a few dollars more.)

Oil Pressure... bought a SUN oil pressure gauge... tube is not near long enough... is there any way to get longer hoses for these guages? or tips on how to use what I have now?
