Hey crew, I discovered the best way to make a comfy mattress, any size. 1: Get foam. I used SS(super soft) 3 inch thick. 2: Get spray adhesive for foam (it dries soft and stretchy). Mine was called "Misty". Upholstery shop had it. 3: I glued 2 halves of foam together for 6 inches of thickness. 4: Get that new stretchy velour blanket material (I got it at Wal Mart). 5: Glue the blanket around the outside of the foam stretching slightly for tightness. This is a 2 person job. Cut the blanket like you are covering a box. After you start the rest can be glued blanket to blanket and takes very little glue. Mask off the areas you don't want glue with newspaper. Glue can be sprayed on one side only if you stick it together fast. Clean your fingers with acetone. Results are amazing. the mattress is on top of the engine and is now easy to move. No sewing was needed! I love my new mattress so much I even sleep with it! Rachel |
