Subject: html text filtering

The note below is from another listserve. Given the concerns that folks on this list have expressed about html text, is their solution to it worth considering here? It would certainly clean up the digest version!

<< VintagVW group: I have set up a more sophisticated filter to deal with attachments and HTML encoded messages on the list. Inbound messages containing either of these elements will have the plain text element of the message appended by the note: "* --- HTML/Attachments detected; removed from message. ---* I may remove this informative message after people get used to the filtering.

I've tested the filtering with various email programs, including AOL V6 webmail, and it seems to be working properly. I'll be monitoring the list closely in the next few days, please send comments or problem reports to mailto:vintagvw-request@listproc.sjsu.edu - John
