Speaking only from the perspective of a 2WD westfalia with batteries in their rightful rearward place, I have built a subwoofer sealed box enclosure with 8 inch Pioneer driver under the driver's seat. It is made of MD particle board and the speaker mounts through the center of the seat swivel mechanism. On the passenger side, I have mounted my primary 4-channel amplifier ~ 1200 watts with fan cooling. The rear of the passenger compartment is encased with a cut-down rubber battery box for the storage of tools and loose parts. Details in the archives and pictures available on request.
