The Hella relay you sell for battery-combining should work just fine electrically (I don't know if the terminals are physically identical). It's an ordinary SPST ("Form A") relay -- the only thing that *might* be special about it is that it has to be able to be driven by the D+ output of the alternator. I don't know how much current D+ can supply so I don't know whether the relay has to be tailored to it. If not, any automotive lighting, horn etc relay would work.
