Get a copy of the Bosch Fuel Injection book. I've actually read the whole thing and found a lot of good information in it. Really it isn't all that hard -- there are quite a few pieces and most of it has to be just exactly right for the engine to run perfectly but the engine will run well with some problems and okay with a lot. If you are concerned about the complexity of the wiring for a swap contact David Marshall for one of his custom plug and play wiring harnesses.

When I got my first beetle, I was 18 and literally did not know how to change the oil. I bought a Muir and learned. Eventually bought other books, or all the books pertaining to 1600, and tackled two full rebuilds (a friend and my own). So what do you suggest for someone needing to learn about FI? >>
