Have the same problem on my '89 Carat:
When the tank is filled all the way - gas leaks out
the vent hoses and then smells/drips till about 7/8
full--was ready to drop $150 for my local shop to drop
the tank, nu hoses.....per my local guy -- said save
ur $150 and just don't top up the tank --- he has the
same problem on his bus and does that - no worry of
explosion hazards -- so i tried and now no drip, no
odor and i still have the $150 to spend...
