Frank if you need to force the studs down into place the engine block they could become stuck half way in or the cylinder opening might Distort. I would think the threads on the new studs might have a problem. why are using the raceware studs rather than stock studs. I have a small supply of stock studs if you need them call. I'm attempting to replace the head studs on my 1.9L rebuild with the Raceware studs, but they sure are difficult to screw into the block. I double-nutted the top threads to drive the stud in, but it gets maybe 2 turns then refuses to turn any further. Are they supposed to be this difficult to install, or am I maybe doing something wrong? I remember the old ones being hard to remove, but I would not think new ones would be this difficult. Naturally I threw the old studs away long ago before sending the block out for cleaning, so I have nothing to compare the new studs to. -- Frank Miller |
