Despite new motormounts and following the directions, my Stebro will still clank against the body of the van. things are a little snug under there alright. Too much of a hassle to tell if the motor "runs" bette or not but that'sa lot of money for a muffler. If I had to do it over again, I'd still considerthe purchase, but wait til my OE muffler finally rusted out. Stebro also sent inadequate mounting hardware and one too few gaskets since I also ordered the SS J-pipe also. Took an act of Congress to get the right gaskets to arrive, but thanks to Frank for staying on their ass so they did finally show up. The J-pipe was too long and I had to have it shortened locally.

Would I do it again? Prolly not. I'm not pissed and not tickled to death. That $400+ would've gotten me well on the way to the TWM throttle bodies however

Very high quality, as expected, but the sound was completely unexpected! It actually sounds like the finely tuned German machine that it is! The tone is deep and mellow, and yet much quieter than stock. Think Porsche.

I can't give it enough praise. It's worth every penny, and it's probably the cheapest way to totally change the driving experience of your Vanagon.

Thanks Frank and Stebro for making these fantastic units! http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/stebro.htm

P.S.: I think I'll be calling Stebro about doing one for the MG's!
