Joel,

At one of the many Lord Kelvin statues in Glasgow, a Scot Listee, with whom I traded Westys last year, told me that Lord Kelvin said, (colloquially) "If you can't measure it, you don't know what you're talking about."

Kelvin is he of the "K" as in, "3200K and 3400K," measurements of daylight and artificial light found on all old Kodak film accompanying inserts.
