Subject: Loose oil dip stick
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hello all, I had occasion to be working around the rear end of my 89 Wolfie Vanagon (that's the end closest to the last bumper to arrive anywhere while proceeding in a forward direction ....) Anyway, I noticed that the oil dip stick had vibrated (?) out of the tube almost a half inch. I have not noticed any red lights flashing so I suspect my oil pressure to be within limits, but I got to questioning if my oil pressure would drop were the dip stick to vibrate out past the ridged end cap. Anyone else care to comment or ever experience something similar? Does the end cap get worn enough to warrant replacement? ... or should I just go get my crankshaft counterbalanced and eliminate the vibration! TIA for your (positive) responses. Ken Hartz 89 White Wolfie
