Use it on 110VAC with the thermostat turned full on and the selector switch set to 110v. If it gets cold, it works (note: it takes hours to cool off the box and 20-30 minutes for cooling to begin at all). If it doesn't get cold, open up the lagging over the boiler/flue and see if the heater is getting hot. If the heater is hot and the fridge isn't working, no doubt it's cooked. If the heater isn't hot, find out why and try again and/or try the same thing with 12v (but you'll need to supply 8 amps for quite awhile to do it).
