Though I can't disagree, I'm reasonably Happy with my 5 speed. Its attached
to an Eurospec inline 4.
I have used 2nd as if it were 1st cuz it isn't smooth to go from 1 to 2.
But you can do it if your not in too much of a hurry.  I really like the
top end in it. it purrs right along at 70 +.
