I did one of these. You do attach the bracket to the side of the trans. I believe we got ours to fit without drilling. The spring attaches to the kick down lever very easily when you pull the old linkage off of it (remove the one bolt and the linkage that would normally go to the throttle valve). You just put that hook on the spring in the hole on the kick down arm. Then pull the bracket on the passenger side of the transmission to where you think it should go (tapped holes are already in the side of the tranny for the bracket) and then attach it. Have you gotten your pan from the Audi 5000 auto yet? (How else were you going to move the dipstick from the left to the right where it needs to be?)
