Every radio I have fooled with has not had the security code in it. If yours does then unless you can find some paperwork with the number on it you are goofed (one radio actually had the code written in marker on it- thoughtful dealer:). Here is what I do on a non-coded radio to get it to work again: Turn on the radio Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan simultaneously until 1000 appears (may be several seconds). Now push the buttons for the presets until you see the display read 1111. Now push and hold the AM/FM Band Selector and Scan buttons again until your radio starts to work.
