Phil, Imron is by far the best---But hold on to your shorts.

This stuff is the most toxic stuff you could possibly use. You had best have an asperated mask, and body bag when you shoot this stuff.

I have been using the newer PPG Deltron replacement called Concept.

It is solvent and UV proof, (as per a conversation with PPG's lab ) easy to use, and dries looking 3 feet deep. And this is single stage paint I'm talking about.

The base-clear is excellent also, but not too many guy's want their excavating semi's painted in base-clear, because of the cost factor.

Base clear in Concept for the pop-top would be the ultimate answer.

I bet that maroon cost an arm and a leg anyway, just because of the red pigment's in it.
