Karl,
Great idea! Let's make it better. Cover the entire roof with solar panels,
and use solar panels over the windows as shades! The panels over the
windows would be tiltable to get the maximum sun charging and the maximum
shade for the beer-drinking geniuses on the inside. Also, they would
quieten any ensuing burps thus making it a better campground for everyone.

I'll toss in a question from an admitted electronics numnutz: I've seen
photos of a van with a solar panel on its roof; how much power can be gotten
from one of these panels? Enough to drive the AC unit? Adequate to assist
in driving the unit, perhaps?
