Thanks to Michael, David, Bill, Robb and Jim:
After looking at the exhaust system and bolstered by last weekends project
of putting in a new kitchen faucet (not one leak), I've decided to replace
it myself. The only thing that concerns me is the amount of rust on the
whole system. All the bolts and pipes are rusted together so I'm not sure
if I should replace the whole system or just the muffler and tailpipe, which
truly need replacing. I'm taking another look at it today (with printouts
of the system from the Bus Depot :) ) to see what is rusted or nearly rusted
through and might try to loosen the bolts to see how brittle it is. My sig.
other commented that as long as there is a running vehicle, I can do all the
work I want to on the van!
Jim - I know the area around Cole Mill Rd and will look for his shop next
time I'm headed out to the Eno. I will probably go to him for some other
repairs that need doin'. If you see someone in a white (used to be tan)
vanagon with Hawaiian print seat covers waving at ya, that's me.
Thanks again,
Michelle
