Well, I didn't realize early vanagons had diffrent shift rod setup(endless surprises!!!) Found out by checking Bentley, it mentions replacing center bushing by removing front and middle section of shift rod( lots of work) for 091 trans. I imagine that bushing can easily be made(turned) out of delrin and will last very long time. W.Berg also sells moly impregnated bearing material( delrin or something similar) that will work well.
