3M makes a urethane based plastic trim adhesive for that purpose. It's a 2 part glue, fairly viscous. The automotive version comes in a red box, the industrial stuff's part number is 3532. Not sure if the cheapo urethane based stuff in the 25 ml. syringe at Wal Mart would do the trick or not. Think either Duro or Devcon makes it. I would at least steel wool the painted surface for better ahdesion.
