Hi Michelle, There is a gas station on Guess Road at I-85 that used to have a lot of Vanagons waiting to be serviced. Is that where Lonny used to work? I've noticed I don't see the Vans and busses there anymore. In the past, I've gone to see Greg at Village Motorwerks in Cameron Village shopping center in Raleigh. I've heard mixed reviews from others, although I've been satisfied. Hi Bill, Wasn't it you that had a mixed to negative review of Village Motorwerks? If so, could you remind me by Pmail what it was? Also, you had asked earlier about changing the expansion valve in a Carat. According to the Bentley, you have to remove all of the ductwork starting at the front first. I have done so, and it is a major PITA. I have no idea how I am going to support the evaporator housing to reconnect the hoses, drain hoses, and cables. I really have no idea how I am going to hold that thing up and start the screws again. I also am concerned about the cracks around some of the screw holes in the plastic. If I hit a bump hard enough, the whole evaporator housing will probably fall. Having said all that, I am glad I took it down. My new expansion valve is stamped R-134, so maybe there is some sort of optimization for R-134. I'll feel better with the R-134 gaskets anyway. Besides, the old evaporator was so covered with dust and rotten plastic foam that it is a wonder that any air made it through there anyway!
