Subject: Lunch/afternoon @ Potato Patch (long)
Any listees who are in the neighborhood are welcome to attend. This started
out as a family thing, but has grown. Parking may become problematical, and
you might be asked by the ranger to chip in for spaces, even though it is
day use.

we're doin' it again!
Get ready for the 6th Annual Stephanie Day Celebration at Potato Patch
Campground
This party has traditionally been held on or around the first weekend of
September to commemorate Stephanie's entry onto this earth. This year, we'
re killing two birds with one stone and adding Andy's birthday celebration
to the mix.
As usual, food will be served (don't know what yet, but it's guaranteed to
at least be edible).
This year, we're gathering on Sunday, the 9th of September. Food and
festivities will around 1:00 pm and will continue until we are worn out,
rained out, out of food, or out of sorts.
If you haven't been up in a while, the campground has been completely
refurbished, with nice new tables and restrooms. It's even been paved
(roads and pull-ins, that is)!
If you expect that you're gonna want to sit, but don't want to fight for a
space (or if you're pretty sure you'd lose that fight), remember to bring a
chair or two along!
We hope to see all of you at this year's party.
Please help us plan by letting us know if you'll be able to make it this
year. Thanks!

Gettin' There
By now you should all know how to get to Potato Patch Campground, but here's
the directions in case any of you tend to get lost. If anyone needs a ride,
give us a call at 602/243-6090.
Potato Patch Campground is located at the top of Mingus Mountain above
Jerome. There are basically two ways to get there from the Phoenix area:
1) Take I-17 north to Cordes Junction, then west on Highway 69. Turn right
on Fain Road (at the Prescott Country Club light), which is unpaved, but
usually in very good condition. Drive north till it ends at 89A, then head
east to the top of Mingus Mountain. The campground entrance will be at the
summit on your left.
1a) Rainy weather alternate route: should there have been recent heavy
rains, continue on 69 past Fain Road about five miles to Prescott Valley,
turn north on Robert Road, drive through Prescott Valley to 89A. This route
is paved the entire distance.
2) Take I-17 north from Phoenix to the Cottonwood exit and follow the signs
to Jerome. Go through Jerome and on up to the top of Mingus Mountain. The
campground will be on your right at the summit.
