I finally got off my duff and got my buddy to get under ny '82 diesel today and fix the ruined front wheel bearing. While we were at it, I bought all new brake hardware (disc shields too!), and replaced everything. The shiny new calipers, Brembo rotors, and Mintex RedBox pads suit her well. :) Upon butting her up, the brakes felt weak, as before, but still stopped her fine. We put her back up to check the rears! Oh horror! THe backing plates had rusted completely apart, and had separated from the control arms. THe fact her brakes worked as they did, seeing as they were more heavily corroded than your average sunken WWII warship. I've collected all new parts, except for backing plates, and a front swaybar (it somehow snapped in two). Can anyone help on locating any of these parts? Much obliged.
