I was about to pose a question to the list about rust proofing today when I read these e-mails about Electronic Rustproffing. It sounds like it would work and to those people who may have a doubt about it, there is a similar type of action that occurs on ships. Ships hulls are made of steel and the propellors are of a non-corrosive metal. With the two disimilar metals in the salt water a corrosive action takes place that would eat away the hull. So to counter act this a metal plate (with a corrosive resistance less than steel) is attached to the hull near the propellor. The plate gets eaten away instead of the hull and is replaced throughout the life of the ship. It's called a sacrificial anode.

Maybe not the best explaination but I would be willing to give the Electronic Rustproffing a try. Has any list member tryed it yet? If this was not to be used what is the recommendation of the list? I am in New Jersey and would like to know if anyone knows of a place that I can get my van rustproofed.
