Subject: Digi-whatever question
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I can't remember which one it is in my '87...

Anyway, I have noticed that occasionally there is a slight delay from when I turn the key till the starter engages. I've not worried about it before since, although noticeable, it was only a fraction of a second or so, and I always assumed it to be something innocuous like the digi-control-thing-a-ma-bobber doing its thing.

Lately, this slight delay is a complete no start until I turn the ignition off, back on and wait a full 5 seconds are so. Not all the time, just occasionally. The weather has been hot and humid, and the van has been sitting for more than a day at a time.

The first things that come to mind: a bad clutch switch (the van will start without stepping on the clutch (or do they all do that?), a fuel line problem - is there a fuel pressure issue that the digi-thing responds to? Something else in the digi-mc-bobber operation?

Enlightenment Welcome oh Gods of the Vanagon world. Brian
