With the information given -- no. But it's not the screen resolution. ETKA runs fine on a small screen -- you just can't see enough of it to be useful.

No. Many 15-inch monitors these days can do 1280x1024, or at least 1152x864 which is just barely enough. It is of course also necessary that the video card support the resolution, but again most modern ones do.

You may find a program that allows you to have a "virtual desktop" that's larger than your screen, so that the screen becomes a window on the desktop which you can pan around to see the whole desktop. Not extra convenient but certainly usable.
