Ed and list,

The adjustment cam slides in through the bottom plate of the throttle body. If you pull the throttle body (not as bad as it looks) and remove the TPS this cam will drop right out provided it isn't corroded in place (mine was). Couple of careful whacks with a small hammer and a punch freed it up than I cleaned it up real good. I haven't been able to find a new one available anywhere. What you could do is remove the mangled one, drill out the mashed portion and use a good epoxy to attach a hex wrench to it permanently to it (you'd never have to look for that particular wrench again). Another couple of sources of aggravation with these things is the plastic cam on the butterfly shaft (Ken Wilford has these for a couple bucks) and warped bottom plates that won't allow the cam to move correctly.

Getting the TPS to work correctly has solved about 98.5% of my rough-running/stumbling/backfiring/low power problems. I also found that setting the idle gap at the wider end of the recommended range gives much more consistent operation that setting the gap toward the tight end.
