Subject: Alignment help Shop machine has incorrect values?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I took my Van to have it aligned, and they give you a printout of the results along with the specified range that is acceptable for the vehicle. I was comparing the sheet to what is written in the factory manual and I found a number of discrepancies between the sheet that the shop gave me and what is listed in Bentley.

The printout does say "Vanagon 1980-1991 all except syncro"

Most of the discrepancies have the shop numbers in a narrower range (but are within the factory specs). However the numbers for the rear Camber is way off.

The shop says: Rear Camber -0.17 to 0.17

However Bently says -50' +- 30' which I calculate out to: 0.033 to 1.3

Is there an error in Bentley? or the Shop machine?

I recall seeing somewhere that some machines have the wrong alignment numbers - is that it?

Thanks
