I've got a westy with the flooring and accessing the metal floor is pretty difficult. What I did was drill the flooring material and insterted a brass bushing that I picked up at the hardware store. The bushings were about 1 1/2" and cut about 1/4" off to mesh up with the flooring. The inside diameter fits the seat pins (about 1/2") and the outside (about 3/4") was pressed into the flooring. This set up worked fine for me.
