I threw out the digest before replying directly so everyone has to look at this. Sorry. Remember that in most cases your seat mount will not be called on to support much force but in some kind of an accident there would probably be quite a large amount of force on that bottom mount. The last thing you want is someone being thrown around inside the vanagon with a loose seat. I would pull up the sub floor and weld in the proper brackets the way the factory did them. just a thought, Craig the Gorge VW club
