How about the expansion valve? I just did the R-134a on mine and chose to replace that too. It was a major PITA to remove the evaporator, but at least I got the opportunity to vacuum out all of the dust and rotten foam that was clogging up the fins.

Also, I am not convinced that I got all of the R-12 oil out of my new compressor -- probably an ounce or so left. I hope this doesn't clog up anything in the future. Also, I couldn't find blue O-rings to fit the compressor ports on my Sanden 711 compressor. Again, I hope that this won't mean I have to charge up the R-134a every year! Anybody know how much potential loss there is from 2 O-rings? I changed the rest of them.
