While getting wires for my 84 I found out there are two different caps and wires. Some caps have a screw like thing in each hole that the wire screws into. The other one has a regular hole and the wires have a clip on the end that snaps into place. You need the right wires for the cap you have. I think if you replace both your ok but don't know for sure about that.
