Subject: For those of you awaiting your #@$%$ watertank fill outlets.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

It has been six months, no problem, I can wait patiently. The water tank fill outlet was on back order, (I wish I could remember the manufacturer I don’t have the part infront of me right now, although it is the OEM), I won’t name the vender I used yet, as I have not had the opportunity to contact them about it, so I should give them a chance first before I start flaming. I am just mad and disappointed right now, need to vent.

Well I finally got the outlet today, and I am not impressed. Apparently the maker saw fit for a redesign, instead of the hinged cover and a keyed cap inside, the new setup is simply a keyed hatch that opens downward to reveal the filler. The opening is really small. And in the effort of even worse design the entire assembly is made of plastic, even down to the keys! Now I have the utmost respect for today’s plastics, but did they have to use the weakest, most brittle stuff available? I mean cheap cheap cheap… The minute I tried to open the hatch to see how this thing worked the notch on the key snapped off inside, rendering my new part useless, I have never seen a bigger @#$%#@ pile of garbage in my life.

Is this the future of replacement westie parts? This was not what I was expecting, I liked how the original setup was. This just sucks, safe to say I will be returning this item. I just hope I can find the original design, hopefully VWoA still has some lying around, despite inflated prices it is now worth it. That, or start scouring the junk yards. Just want to notify you fellow listers out there that need replacements, the tank fill outlets available now are not what you may be expecting. A Pox on the maker of such crap!
