Hi Mark,

Good to see your name come up, as I read many of your post when I first joined the list. Anyway, the area I had that leaked especially sneaky, was the joint between the metal oil filler tube and the plastic oil filler neck.

Once a climb over Snowqualmie summit, and maybe a higher oil level than I normally run, I start get smoke. Unload all of the vacation luggage, whip open the engine hatch, and see oil from this joint.

I simply put a worm drive style hose clamp over the joint, and using sheet metal shears trimmed the tail end piece short.

Sincerely,

Mark Keller 91 Carat Cowichan Bay, BC
