Only 'cos they bought NSU...

and anyway what's wrong with a linear torque curve, that would be in keeping with how I drove my old bay, once you get up to speed you keep it there regardless of obstacles, land features, people, cliffs, you just can't afford to slow down and lose that speed, so something making max torque at the top end would be perfect :-)
