I have a loose alternator on my 85 Westy 1.9 Wasserboxer. The lower bracket that bolts to the engine appears to be missing a bolt. My local VW guys want to replace it (P/N 025 903 141C) and the bolt that fastens it to the engine (P/N N 010 3753) for $21.95 and $1.85 respectively. This isn't bad, but they want 2 hours' labor -- $120. They say they are uncertain whether a) the bracket is broken or b) the bolt is broken off. My bet is that the bolt just came loose and fell out. So, my question is, can anyone supply me with the specs for this bolt so I can look for a replacement at the hardware store? Thanks immensely!
